It's not harsh on the hair, but grips enough to make a smooth pull back style.

For reference: my hair is naturally gray, high porosity, fine with curl between a 2c/3a. I wasn't sure this brush would do anything for my flyaways/frizz but I find I use it every time I style my hair to smooth down my edges, top flyaways/frizz, and sides which are shaved close crop to my head. I haven't tried it on smooth back my head into a band or trying it before washing which now I'll definitely do. Never knew I needed this but so glad I found it! :)

Love this brush from Bounce Curl. I prefer this type of brush as this kind of brush doesn’t pull my hair. I take small sections of my hair and brush each section gently with this smoothing brush before I wash my hair. This brush will not disappoint

This is a great brush for slicked back styles. It also just feels nice in the hand.

I have loose waves so this helps me with frizz. But mostly my cats love this brush so much I had to buy them their own. They get stoked for brushies now!

I am in the military and this brush is perfect to slick my hair back while avoiding breakage!
