Scalp Care

The scalp is the surface area of our body where new hair growth occurs. It's involved in a series of complex biochemical reactions that are essential for healthy hair.

The scalp is home to thousands of hair follicles which are responsible for growing new hairs. The hair follicle gets all its nutrients from the innermost layers of the scalp.

The health of your hair, its growth and strength, as well as how shiny it is all depends on having a healthy scalp. Consequently, if you want nice healthy hair, you need to take care of your scalp! A basic rule to follow is: " Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp."

Why is Scalp Care Important?

We have approximately 100,000 hair follicles on our scalp and our hair grows from these follicles.

Hair fibers cover the scalp surface protecting the inner delicate tissues of our brain.

Because hair keratin provides insulation against heat, shock, and external injuries, it is important to keep your follicles healthy in order to maintain this protection. In addition, keeping your existing hair healthy is also crucial for optimal defense.

Just as your face and other parts of your skin are exposed to the sun, solar radiation, dust particles, and debris, so is your scalp.

Furthermore, the residue of products and build up can leave the scalp surface dirty and grimy, which may cause an unpleasant smell, tackiness, and greasy feel at the hair's surface. In other words: a healthy scalp is key.

What About a Scalp with Curly Hair?

Curly hair is delicate and requires a special care regimen. The basics are the same; we need a healthy, clean scalp.

Any product build-up or too much polymeric ingredient or large molecular weight protein molecules can distort the curl pattern and diameter.

Apple Cider Vinegar

It is a natural product made by fermentation of apple juice. It contains acetic acid and malic acid ensuring mild acidic pH for hair and scalp.

Acidic pH helps remove any build-up from the scalp surface and hair shaft by dissolving the build-up.

It also inhibits the growth of bacteria and other microbes at the scalp, controlling the dandruff scaling or any other inflammation.

Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Oil

Turmeric is an old traditional Indian spice with strong anti-microbial, anti-oxidant and therapeutic properties.

In Indian culture, it is known for skin cleansing and healing properties. The oil helps soothe scalp cells and inhibit microbial activity, improving overall scalp health.

Charcoal Carbon

The activated carbon obtained from the controlled combustion of charcoal is added due to its detoxifying benefits. It also acts as an abrasive to remove dead cells and other debris from the scalp surface.

Aloe Vera Leaf Juice

It's a rich source of starch molecules, pectins, and glycosides and has been used for healing wounds since ancient times.

It helps improve scalp hydration, minimizing scalp dryness and itchiness. It also helps promote collagen synthesis, and restricts the damage induced by free radicals.

It is a multifunctional ingredient that offers anti-aging as well as water retention properties to the scalp and hair.

It accelerates skin metabolism and promotes protein synthesis at the epidermal layer leading to improved skin texture.

Biotin also known as vitamin H. It is a key-player in our formulation. It helps improve the quality of keratin structure and has a positive impact on fine and brittle hair. Biotin deficiency may lead to thinning hair.
